Calving Season. The moment when Africa is born. There are places on Earth where nature shows itself in all its power. Calving Season in Tanzania is one of them.

Calving Season is the most dynamic and dramatic period of the Great Migration of animals in East Africa. From January to March, millions of wildebeest and zebras gather on the endless plains of the Ndutu region (on the border of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro) to give birth to a new generation.

This is the time when the wildlife of Tanzania reveals itself at its fullest. Here are the main reasons why Paganel chose this particular season for a unique journey to Africa.
- During this period, about half a million baby wildebeest are born. The uniqueness of the phenomenon lies in its synchrony: up to 8,000 calves are born every day in mid-February. Right before your eyes, a newborn calf stands on its feet just 10 minutes after birth and within half an hour is ready to run alongside the herd. It is an incredibly touching sight that shows the triumph of life.

- The appearance of hundreds of thousands of defenseless young animals attracts a colossal number of predators to the Ndutu region. It is during these days that the savanna turns into the greatest natural stage on our planet. The huge herds are followed by lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and jackals.

Every day brings incredible stories, touching, dramatic, and real. There is no staging here. Only wild nature as it has been for thousands of years.

- At this time, the Serengeti is especially beautiful. After the rains, the savanna turns bright green, the air becomes crystal clear, and the soft golden light of sunrises and sunsets creates conditions for photographs that travelers and photographers from all over the world dream of.

Calving Season is a unique opportunity to see not just a safari. It is a chance to witness one of the greatest natural events on Earth, feel the true rhythm of Africa, and take home memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Paganel's program will take place from February 10 to 17, 2027.
