ITINERARY

Day 1
13.08 / 22.08

Arrival in the cultural capital of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. Meeting at the airport, transfer to the hotel, money exchange, purchase of SIM cards, general information about the country. In the evening, meet-and-greet dinner at Churrascarias which is the local “eat as much as you can” restaurant. Presentation and giving expedition t-shirts and badges.

Day 2
14.08 / 23.08

Wake up, have breakfast. We put on comfortable walking shoes and go on a daytime walking tour of the glorious city of Rio de Janeiro! The very one that Ostap Bender dreamed about. Before starting, a mandatory briefing on safety and behavior on the streets of Rio.

Today you will get acquainted with the most important sights of Rio: visit the great statue of Christ, the main symbol of Brazil and one of the new wonders of the world.

Then you will take the cable car up to the Sugar Loaf, from where you can see the city of Rio de Janeiro at a glance.

Here you will see the founding place of Rio and learn the history of the discovery of this part of Brazil.

During a walk through the city center, we will visit the bright and colorful stairs of Selarona, one of the most favorite places in the city among tourists, drink coffee in the century-old Colombo coffee house, look into the amazing library of the Portuguese kings.

We also have to see the largest graffiti in the world for 2016, included in the Guinness Book of Records!

Rio de Janeiro "from and to" on a big full-fledged city tour! Overnight at a 4* hotel on the famous Capocabana beach.

Meals included: breakfast.

Day 3
15
.08 / 24.08

We have serious plans for this day: to climb through the Atlantic forest to the most famous Telegraph stone, where photographs are taken “with a cliff”. Everything is as safe as possible and the “cliff” is just for a photo, but very beautiful photos against the backdrop of the beaches of Rio de Janeiro with special effects are provided.

And after such physical activity, we will reach the distant "wild" city beaches, along which the houses of local residents are not built, we will rest on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, wet our feet, and if the temperature of the current allows, then we will swim, having a rest on the cleanest beach.

We return for the night in Rio. Relaxation.

Meals included: breakfast

Day 4
16
.08 / 25.08

Today we are going to the North-East of Brazil, a region radically different from Rio and little explored by foreign tourists, but loved by Brazilians. The northeast of Brazil has its own culture, cuisine, nature and climate, the region is radically different from the rest of the country!

We wake up early in the morning. We pack our bags. We have breakfast. We load into our transfer bus and rush to the airport. Flight to the city of San Luis!

Upon arrival, we will have lunch in San Luis and walk along the historic streets of this ancient city. Then we will go to Lencois National Park

Maranhenses. Transfer about 4 hours. We are waited for the dunes of the desert, where sand dunes, white as flour, are separated by pools of the purest blue rainwater.

After arriving at the Lensois Marañenses park, the future crews settle into two modern and comfortable villas. We rest and prepare for the next busy day!

Day 5
17
.08 / 26.08

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel we take a swimsuit, cameras and a good mood. We load into jeeps and go to the park, where we will go for a walk along the white dunes, swim in the Lagoons called: Beautiful and Blue, we will admire this incredible natural phenomenon and we will definitely meet the sunset in this unusual desert.

Lencois Maranhenses is one of the most mysterious places on the planet. The vast flat area of the park is covered with huge sand dunes, reaching up to 40 m in height.

During the rainy season (300 times more rain falls here than in the famous Sahara), water accumulates between the dunes, forming many lagoons that create a landscape of unique beauty - turquoise, green and blue mirrors of lakes among snow-white velvety sands.

This fantastic landscape stretches over an area of more than 1.5 thousand km², it goes deep into the mainland for almost 270 km, and the length of the dunes along the coastline is about 44 km.

To preserve the unique natural creation, on June 2, 1981, the desert was given the status of a National Park.

Meals included: breakfast.

Day 6
18
.08 / 27.08

Today is no less a cool day than we had yesterday. We have breakfast. Again, we take yesterday's set for happiness: a swimsuit, a camera, a great mood. We load first into cars, and then we transfer to boats. In the morning, we will take a trip along the Pregisas River to the point where the dunes of Lencois Park meet the ocean.

On the way, we will look at the mangroves, make stops in the settlements of local residents, see tame monkeys, dine with local dishes, and when we reach the ocean, we can try kite surfing, swim in the ocean or in the lagoons of Lencois Park.

In the evening, we will meet another amazing sunset. If you are lucky with the weather, then the coolest photos for your Instagram are provided.

Meals included : breakfast.

Day 7
19
.08 / 29.08

Today we are heading back to Rio de Janeiro to begin the sailing part of your journey in the Gulf of Angra dos Reis. Get up early, drive to the city of San Luiz, fly to Rio, quickly get things, load on the bus, stop by the supermarket to buy some delicious treats, favorite fruits, alcohol, etc. for our yachts, and rush to the nearby Rio de - Janeiro, the town of Angra dos Reis.

We have 7 days ahead of us on board the yacht and explore the paradise of Ilha Grande with blue water and the incredible nature of Brazil.

In 1502, on the "Day of the Kings", a paradise bay south of Rio de Janeiro appeared before the eyes of the Portuguese, and they gave it the appropriate name - the Bay of the Kings (Angrados Reis). Just imagine, for several centuries pirates have rampaged here! Today it is a peaceful corner, but the waters here are full of natural wonders, and the bottom littered with the wreckage of pirate ships has become a resting place for many corsairs who fought here. About 16 shipwrecks lie at the bottom of the bay - one of the highest concentrations of such objects in the world.

We get to the local marina.

We are looking for the familiar yellow Paganel Studio flags flying from the masts.

In the marina of Angrados Reis, the beautiful boats of the Paganel fleet are already waiting for us. Wind Dancer and MonCoeur (you can get to know them better on our website www.paganel-sailing.com). Acquaintance with the fleet of the Paganels, as well as with the captains and crew.

Accommodation in cabins. Acquaintance with yachts, a brief briefing on the arrangement of yacht life, cabins, use of latrines and electricity.

We pack our things and get ready to leave.

The evening crossing to Ilha Grande Island will take several hours. Before leaving, be sure to conduct a safety briefing. And go for adventure!

Ilha Grande is the largest island in the Costa Verde. The nature of this island is protected; driving cars is prohibited on the island, which makes it an extremely quiet, no-fuss place. Here it is easy to imagine yourself as an explorer of Treasure Island.

Late dinner at the anchorage in the beautiful bay of Ilha Grande.

Day 8
20
.08 / 30.08

We wake up. We wash ourselves. We have a delicious breakfast prepared by our chefs at the anchorage in a quiet bay.

11.jpg

In the morning, you can afford a small hike around the island to the Feiticeira waterfall (Cachoeirada Feiticeira).

Today we are also waiting for the transition to the island of Ilha da Jaguanun. The transition time is about 3 hours, it can be passed by fishing and learning the tricks of sailing.

Day 9
21
.08 / 31.08

Today we are waiting for a transition to the already familiar island of Ilha Grande, only on its other side - to the Lopez Mendes beach. We will sail and enjoy the hike for about 4 hours.

Lopez Mende Beach, stretching for 3 km along the coast of the island of Ilha Grande, is a real landmark of national importance.

Lopez Mende Beach, stretching for 3 km along the coast of the island of Ilha Grande, is a real landmark of national importance.

Day 10
22
.08 / 01.09

Did you already use to start the day with sea crossings? This day is no exception, today we are waiting for Meros Beach on the island of Ilha Grande, we will be here in a couple of hours. The best, wild and protected beaches can only be reached by yacht. Meros Beach is located in a cozy picturesque bay, framed by the jungle, absorbing everything in its path. Their green waves are like the backs of giant prehistoric monsters with emerald green bodies, bordered by a deserted white sand beach and a transparent turquoise lagoon. The depths allow you to enjoy snorkeling and even watch the turtles that have chosen this area.

Having enjoyed plenty of wild beaches of pristine beauty, you can visit other attractions on the island: for example, the underwater cave of Du Akaya in the north of the island. You can also look into the Church of Santana, built in 1796 and preserving the old pirate cemetery. Our yachts will take you anywhere.

Day 11
23
.08 / 02.09

We get used to having breakfast with a beautiful view of the ocean. Today we return to civilization! Paraty is 21 nautical miles away.

This is a small charming town with colonial architecture and a quiet family way of life. This city has been preserved in its original form, in which it was built in the middle of the 17th century, when the colonizers from Portugal came here. Before the Portuguese, the Guayanas Indians lived in these places. In their language, the word "paraty" meant "Fish River". When gold deposits were found near Paraty in 1695, the city became the second most important port in Brazil, and a gold rush began in the Portuguese colony. Galleons filled with gold and diamonds began to depart from here.

Today we spend the day walking around this city. We buy the necessary products and, of course, cachaca.

Day 12

24.08 / 03.09

We wake up at the anchorage to the sound of waves at the side of the yacht, have breakfast, drink coffee and get ready for a new day. Today we move to Sacodo Mamangua Fjord. This fjord is the only tropical fjord on the entire coast of South America.

In addition to the impressive views, we will also have a jungle trek. We will climb one of the peaks of the fjord - Picodo Paodo Acucar. From here, you have a breathtaking view of the bay.

Tired and satisfied, we find a cozy cove for the night. We dine as a close-knit team, rejoice at new friends and grieve at the imminent parting. The journey through amazing Brazil is coming to the end.

Day 13

25.08/03.09

Today is our final day of sea crossings. We get up early and pack our things. We will have breakfast, raise the anchor, straighten the sails and set off on a 3-hour passage to Angra dos Reis.

Here we moor in the already familiar marina. From the very morning, you will have the opportunity to go for a PCR test before the evening flight.

Farewell to the group, promises of new meetings and travels ;)

Transfer to Rio. Flight home.
